Gifted Minds International School, Opaallaan 1190-1196 Hoofddorp 2132 LN, Netherlands

GMIS offers 2 comprehensive rigorous academic programs of learning and teaching in combination: International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) and Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

IB PYP is one of the highest-ranked Academic Program in the world and prepares students to be balanced, knowledgeable, active lifelong learners, who are able to cope with the ever-changing world. The PYP School program is for students ranging from 3 to 12 years old, which provides the foundation for the development of every child.

Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are American-based educational standards that students from Kindergarten to High School should achieve at the end of each grade. The standards are consistent, evidence, and research-based with the application of knowledge through higher-order thinking skills. The IBO fully supports the use of Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Based on this support and a thorough review of the CCSS, GMIS has adopted and integrated the CCSS in the Preschool and Primary Sections.

Our uniquely designed child-centered program has an eclectic approach, with lots of fun-filled, play-based activities that holistically enhance a child’s 5 domains called “PILES” – Physical, Intellectual, Language, Emotional, and Social developments. We are passionately committed to striving for excellence through our school’s curriculum that promotes children to be autonomous and active learners.

Our curriculum gives paramount importance to every child’s learning and development through focusing on knowledge, skills, abilities, feelings, and disposition. We have the tools to reinforce learning in every way that shapes and sculpts bright minds. As the child discovers and learns to read, write, and calculate, she/he will embark on this journey to embrace the joy of learning.

The matrix of knowledge can be divided into areas of English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies (Geography & History), Art, Physical and Health Education, Music, Additional Languages (Dutch/French), IT, Library, STEAM, and Drama. Our Language and Literacy in-house animated and creative program encompasses auditory, visual, and spatial elements. The Numeracy, Science, and Social Studies lessons are fun-based, age-appropriate, and safe environments that will keep the young minds engaged and spellbound! Scientific Research shows that brain activity is significantly heightened after 20 minutes of physical activity that leads to better retention and synthesis of information. Thus, our lessons are designed to increase attention and motivation through participation. This has phenomenal academic gains.

At GMIS, we believe that learning is a continuous process for Students, Parents, and Teachers. Our highly trained qualified educators facilitate and scaffold children’s learning by providing them with numerous life-long experiences and developmentally age-appropriate activities that stimulate their thinking positively. In addition, we provide a conducive teacher-student ratio to maintain high-quality teacher-student interaction, supervision, and communication at all times. We have incorporated Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences in our current research-based, comprehensive, sensory-rich, engaging, and interactive curriculum that will fascinate your child and you!

We offer half-day and full-day options for Nursery class and a full-day program for the Kindergarteners. At every grade level, only 24 students are enrolled as we promote quality-driven small group teachings. Our student-teacher ratio is as follows:
