UPCOMING EVENT:

Sinterklaas - 5th Dec:
Sinterklaas, a popular Dutch tradition, visits schools delighting students. Dressed in a
red robe, he brings gifts and candy on December 5th. Accompanied by his helpers,
"Zwarte Pieten," the celebration includes singing, dancing, and joyous festivities. Our
students eagerly await Sinterklaas' arrival, fostering a sense of community and cultural
understanding of the way the Dutch celebrate this children’s festival in the Netherlands.

X-mas Show - 17th Dec:
Please join us at the 2024 GMIS Christmas Show “The Magic Christmas Book”.
This event will showcase our wonderful preschool and primary students through a script
they have written that relates to the current Transdisciplinary Theme “How the World
Works”.
EVENTS AND CELEBRATIONS:

Diwali – 6th Nov:
Diwali celebrations at GMIS unite students in a vibrant cultural extravaganza. Students
from diverse backgrounds come together to partake in traditional rituals, artistic
performances, and global cuisine. The festivities foster a sense of unity and
appreciation for cultural diversity, creating lasting memories for our international school
community.

Halloween and Sleepover – 29th - 30th Oct:
GMIS students celebrate Halloween with a school sleepover, creating a spooky
atmosphere with themed decorations and costumes. Activities include trick or treat,
costume contests, scary movies, an untalented show, and a haunted tour of the school.
It fosters a sense of community, allowing students to enjoy the holiday in a fun and safe
environment.

Numeracy Festival – 8th oct:
Simultaneously, embrace the world of numbers with exciting numeracy challenges,
fostering a love for math. This dual-themed event aims to cultivate well-rounded
individuals and make learning an enjoyable experience.

Peace One-day – 20th Sept:
Peace One-day Celebrate peace and numeracy at GMIS's unique festival! Engage
students in activities promoting harmony, understanding, and conflict resolution.

Field Trip:
The GMIS field trip promises an enriching educational experience for students. This
event aims to broaden their horizons by providing hands-on learning opportunities
outside the classroom. Students will engage in interactive activities, fostering a deeper
understanding of the subject matter and creating lasting memories of a day filled with
exploration and discovery.

Orientation Day:
GMIS organizes an introductory event for the students and parents and provides
essential information about the school's facilities, policies, and academic programs. It
aims to familiarize students and parents with their surroundings, teachers, and peers,
fostering a sense of belonging and readiness for the upcoming academic year.
